Tottenham Hotspur Football Club is a premier league operator. During the club’s 126-year history Tottenham Hotspur has trophies for just about every footballing honour, from League Cups to UEFA Cups and FA Cups, plus many more besides. In order to retain its competitive edge both on and off the field the club is continually looking to extend the range of products and services on offer to its fans. A large part of this responsibility lies with the retail operation, a network of 11 outlets which serve the fan base with everything they require. On match days Tottenham Hotspur has around 36,000 people arriving at the stadium with many wanting to purchase items in the outlets around the site.
In line with the club’s plans to increase sales and throughput in its stores, around 60 Retail-J EPOS systems incorporating the TSP100 futurePRNT™ printer from international POS printer manufacturer Star Micronics have been installed by Torex RBS.
The TSP100 futurePRNT series offers high speed printing, exceptional print quality and a range of unique features including a number of software tools. These enable the overall appearance of receipts to be easily modified and customers to be effectively targeted via the printing of relevant coupons.
As Andy Leadbitter, Systems and Admin Manager, Tottenham Hotspur, states, “We recently took the decision to upgrade to the IBM E3 hardware and needed a reliable, fast speed printer to cope with the speed of the new hardware and high volumes of match day transactions.
We selected the Star TSP100 model powered by USB that offered high speed printing and exceptional print quality so we could improve the overall appearance of our receipts, which included adding our Club logo.
We also benefited from improved cable management and counter space by using these printers”.
